Burials

Burials are scheduled Wednesday through Friday, excluding holidays, between 9:00AM to 1:00PM for full casket burials and 9:00AM to 2:00PM for cremation or niche burials, with a two business (2) day notice. Also, burials can be scheduled on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays or after hours for an additional fee.

Both cemeteries are public cemeteries and are supported by tax dollars. Only persons living in the tax district may be buried in either cemetery*.

All headstones and any other type of monuments and their installation MUST be pre-approved by fax and scheduled for setting with the District Manager. A $100.00 appointment fee is due prior to a monument company setting all markers. Weekly removal of any items and/or flowers in both the Lafayette and Alamo Cemeteries, will be at the discretion of the Superintendent.

*Any persons buying burial rights must be a resident of the property tax district (Alamo, Blackhawk, Danville, Diablo, Lafayette, Rossmore, or Tassajara and parts of Walnut Creek/San Ramon)[to be verified by the District Manager. In Certain cases, the law allows an exception to the residence stipulation and persons who are related but who do not reside in or pay property taxes within the district may be buried in the district's cemeteries - in which case a Non-Residents Fee is charged in addition to cemetery charges.
